Thank you for Smoking

More Doctors Smoke Camels

So, have you ever worked on a project that you regretted?   I’ll bet at least someone at the agency responsible for this campaign has.

Fortunately, I’ve been privileged to only work at agencies that had reasonable scruples about promoting clients that are damaging to the environment or to the human populace in general.  While I wouldn’t consider myself super-conservative or anything, there are definitely certain products and/or services that I’m happy to not be promoting.

I share that feeling as well, Andy. Take a look at my online magazine Ground Zero (named before 9/11) where my late friend Dan wrote about his advertising career with Reynolds Tobacco. Dan died of lung cancer on New Year’s eve 2001. The link is http://www.razar.com/grnd_zero/

That ad is classic - amazing. “T-for Throat, T-for Taste” haa! Lordeeee. I always said, though, that if I was going to smoke cigarettes, I’d be a real man and smoke filterless Camels! Less man-made interference with the natural tobacco goodness. :)

Haha. Alan, I’m sure that your doctor would whole-heartedly approve.

Steve, that’s an incredible and moving article. Thanks for sharing.

Andy, the next time we get together, may I have the presentation book and CD? I’d like to load the info on my Mac. Thanks!
